π Welcome Djeran, the Noongar season of cooler days and red blossoms, symbolised by the colour green.
The hot weather finally starts to ease. Mornings are cool and dewy, with gentler southerly winds.
Flying ants drift in the breeze, while red flowering gums and summer flame flowers begin to show. Sheoaks and banksias provide vital nectar for birds and small mammals.
Traditionally, this was the time to repair mia mias (shelters) in preparation for the wet months ahead.
We’re honoured to be on Wardandi Noongar boodja, learning from the enduring wisdom of Country.
